Literacy Fortnight

By | 20th February 2017

We’ve been very busy over the last while. About a month ago we celebrated Literacy Fortnight. This year our theme was Roald Dahl as it was his centennial year in 2016.

For literacy week we worked on different Roald Dahl novels in our classroom.

Over the intercom every day we heard a snippet from ‘Boy, Tales of Childhood’ where we heard about the Great Mouse Plot. This is a sort of autobiography of Roald Dahl’s childhood.

In the final week we’d a Roald Dahl quiz over the intercom – all classes took part.

There was an art competition where you could do anything at all you wanted based on the Roald Dahl theme – we’d some super entries ranging from pictures, to canvas paintings to 3d models. It was very hard to pick winners!

Finally on our last day of Literacy Fortnight we all dressed up as characters from Roald Dahl – the school was flooded with Fantastic Mr. Foxes, Charlies and Oompa Lumpas! Everyone made a fantastic effort. There are photos in the lobby of everyone dressed up.
