We know in Holy Trinity School that for children to read and write it must be meaningful.
That is why the 4th class students in Mrs. Gunn’s class recently wrote stories that were aimed at 1st classers in Scoil Bhride. The children brainstormed and planned; wrote a first draft; edited their work; and finally published and illustrated their storybooks. They had great fun pairing up with a younger child whom they then got to read their story too.
This is just one of the strategies which Holy Trinity embraces to improve the literacy and self-esteem of the children in our school.
