4th Class visit Grange Abbey

By | 3rd October 2017

This afternoon Mr Fitzgibbon and Ms O’Donoghue’s 4th classes took a field trip to the Grange Abbey National Monument. While we were there the children sketched a picture of the chapel and noted down some information (its age/purpose/features etc.) We tried to imagine what the Abbey might have been like nearly 900 years ago when it was established. There certainly were no housing estates, busy roundabouts, shopping centre, McDonalds, big church or schools around the area back then.

Grange Abbey is very important to our local area and to our school. So important in fact, that it’s even on our school crest! We decided to recreate the crest while at the Abbey today. What do you think?
