24/3/2020 School Closure Holy Trinity SNS Creative Writing Competition

By | 24th March 2020
Calling on pupils to take part in following creative writing activity. Please forward entries to davidhenryht2016@gmail.com. Samples entries will be posted on website. Stories should begin as follows:

Thursday March 12th seemed like an ordinary school day. News then came through that ‘An Taoiseach’ Leo Varadkar had made an announcement to the country. Our school would now be closed for two weeks.

Now two weeks on I’d like to share my thoughts on what has become ‘The New Normal’

You might like to consider the following in your story but these are only guidelines:

How I felt when the news came through?
Did anything feel different at home/ in your area that day?
How have things changed since schools closed?
What are the main things that have changed in your life at the moment?
How do you keep busy these days?
What do you like most and like least about these changes?
Do you agree with the decisions the government have made?
Do you think that everyone is playing their part?
What is your prediction for the near future?

Please feel free to include anything else that you feel would make an interesting piece of writing.

We look forward to reading and sharing your stories and they can be as short or long as you like!
