Tesco for Schools and Clubs Scheme leads to a bumper delivery of equipment

2011 Scheme gives over €727,000 worth of equipment to Irish schools and clubs

Tesco Ireland today, Monday 14th November 2011, visited Dublin school, Holy Trinity Senior National School in Donaghmede, Dublin 13, to finalise the delivery of Tesco for Schools and Clubs equipment to schools and clubs throughout Ireland. Over 1600 schools and clubs took part in the scheme with over 30,000 pieces of equipment worth over €727,000 given away this year alone. The annual scheme has given away over 430,000 pieces of equipment worth nearly €17 million to Irish schools and clubs over the past 14 years. The scheme is the most successful programme of its kind in Ireland.

Louise O’Reilly, Clarehall Customer Services Manager, Tesco Ireland said, “At Tesco we understand that in today’s climate schools and clubs are finding it harder to get funding for much needed equipment and sports kit. The Tesco for Schools and Clubs scheme is delighted to continue supporting local schools and clubs such as the Holy Trinity National School in Donaghmede.”

The scheme ran from the 28th February to the 8th of May 2011 and is a voucher collection programme which offers clubs and schools a huge catalogue of over 1,000 items to choose from, including everything from paint brushes to goal posts to laptops. Tesco for Schools and Clubs 2012 will be launched in the New Year.
